2023 NFL Mock Draft First Round: The Top 10 Picks You Should Not Miss Out

The NFL Draft 2023 is just around the corner, and everyone has started creating mock drafts. For those who don’t know, it is one of the most exciting times for football fans. It’s when hope arises for all 32 teams as they look to add the missing piece to their puzzle. For some teams, that missing piece is a franchise quarterback. For others, it’s a dynamic playmaker on offense or a stud defensive lineman.

No matter what each team is looking for, the NFL draft is always an event worth paying attention to, and with that said, let’s take a look at our NFL mock draft 2023.

Houston Texans: Bryce Young (QB), Alabama

Bryce Young is one of the most talented quarterbacks in the country, and he has all the potential to be a successful NFL quarterback. He has strong arms which can make accurate throws with good mobility.

Houston Texans need a match-winner franchise quarterback, and Young can be that player for them. As per his stats, he can be the most aggressive weapon in the next NFL season.

Chicago Bears: Will Anderson (Edge), Alabama

Alabama’s Will Anderson is a name linked to the Bears, and he makes a lot of sense as a fit. Anderson is a 6-foot-3, 240-pound edge defender who can play defensive end accurately. At the same time, he’s also an excellent outside linebacker.

The Bears need help on defense, particularly on edge, where they struggled to generate pressure last season. Anderson would be an excellent addition to their team.

Detroit Lions: C.J. Stroud (QB), Ohio State

C.J. Stroud is a 6-foot-2, 218-pound pocket passer with the arm strength to make classy throws. He’s a good decision-maker and accurate passer, completing 65 percent of his passes for 2,511 yards with 22 touchdowns and just four interceptions last season.

Stroud also has the mobility to extend plays with his feet. He’s a competent quarterback who reads defenses well and can make an immediate impact for Lions in the NFL.

Seattle Seahawks: Jalen Carter (DT), Georgia

The Seahawks need some help on the defensive line, and they could get Jalen Carter. He’s a big body that can eat up space and stuff the run, but he also has the courage to get after the quarterback. He should be a good fit in Seattle’s strategy.

Carolina Panthers: Will Levis (QB), Kentucky

As the Carolina Panthers look to rebuild their franchise, Levis can be their quarterback of the future. The Panthers have a lot of needs on their roster, but finding a quarterback is always the most crucial task for any team.

Levis has good size and arm strength and was very accurate in his college career. He can also extend plays with his feet, which is something that Panthers fans are familiar with seeing Cam Newton do.

The main concern with Levis is that he didn’t play against the best competition in college, and it’s unknown how he will transition to the NFL. But if he adjusts quickly, the Panthers could have themselves an outstanding quarterback for years to come.

Philadelphia Eagles: Myles Murphy (Edge), Clemson

Murphy is an explosive edge rusher who can provide a much-needed boost to the Eagles’ pass rush. He’s also a good tackler and has the potential to become a perfect all-around player. For the Philadelphia Eagles, he can be a key point of their defensive weapon.

Arizona Cardinals: Bijan Robinson (RB), Texas

Bijan Robinson is an incredible talent, and the Arizona Cardinals would be foolish to pass on him. He has the strength to be a great NFL running back. He is big, fast, physically strong, and has great vision.

Robinson can break tackles and run over defenders. He also has the speed to get around the edge and can increase the score whenever he touches the ball.

The Cardinal’s offense would be dangerous with Robinson in the backfield. He would give them a bruising runner to complement their quick receivers. Robinson would also be a significant weapon in the passing game, as he can catch the ball out of the backfield and pick up extra yards after the catch.

The only concern with Robinson is his durability, as he’s had some injuries in his career. But if he can stay healthy, he could be a great player in the NFL.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Antonio Johnson (CB), Texas A&M

Antonio Johnson is a 6’2″ corner who played his college career at Texas A&M. He is a big, physical corner who is excellent in press coverage. Moreover, he is a good tackler and can easily keep up with receivers downfield. However, he does need to work on his ball skills, as he had just one interception in his college career.

If the Jaguars do indeed take Antonio Johnson with their first-round pick, they will be getting a physically gifted corner who can come in and immediately help their secondary. Johnson can develop into a perfect NFL player if he improves his ball tackling skills.

Houston Texans: Jaxon Smith Njigba (WR), Ohio State

Jaxon is a big body who can go up and get the ball and has the speed to take the top off a defense. He is a perfect route runner with considerable experience and can contribute immensely to the Texan’s offense.

Las Vegas Raiders: Joey Porter Jr. (CB), Penn State

The Las Vegas Raiders need help in the secondary, and Porter Jr. is one of the best cornerbacks in this year’s draft class. He has excellent size while his speed is also remarkable.  All these aspects make him a talented cover corner.
